Are you tired of movie reviews which seem to exist for no other reason than to stroke the egos of the critic? Or how about DVD reviews loaded with catchy blurbs like "it's an action-packed thrill ride" written primarily for inclusion on a DVD case?

Well, there's none of that at the Film Cynic guide to movies. Instead, you'll get honest, straightforward (even cynical) reviews without all the nonsense you've come to expect from many leading critics. You'll find no stories about grandchildren or dogs. Instead, you'll learn what the movie is about and whether or not it's worth seeing. Sure, I'll try to entertain you along the way, but my primary interest is movies, not stand-up comedy.

But that's not all, dear reader. The ultimate goal is to turn this humble site into a thriving hub of moviedom. We're talking forums, profiles of actors and actresses, a character actor hall of fame, a guide to the best nude scenes featuring your favorite stars, and anything else that our devious minds can cook up.
